Celtic Retreats, inspired by the ancestral practices of ritual and ceremony, creates opportunities for guests to build deeper connections to nature, one another and to their ancestors. The moon garden includes a timber structure used to host rituals and ceremonies that celebrate lunar events. Round in shape to reflect the moon, the structure allows elevated views of the landscape. At night the surrounding beds shimmer with an ethereal glow, the white flowers illuminated from the light of the moon. At the centre of the platform, engraved in the timber, molten copper fills the grooves to map out the ley lines and the spiritually significant sites that surround the site, connecting guests to the sacred land around them. The use of copper pays homage to the copper mining industry in the local area.
